Mix potions, test your magical knowledge and even take a flying class at the RSPB’s Strumpshaw Fen’s Spellbinding Wizard School this half-term – all the while enjoying the great outdoors.
We always love their holiday activities but it feels like they have upped their game for this one.
Dressed in her witchery best, Freya was sold at the mention of magic but I think it’s fair to say she enjoyed every activity – and there were many.
As we wandered our way through the autumnal woods, she got the chance to, among other things, make a wand, a charm bag, cast spells and find out magical facts about trees and birds.
The favourite activity (for her and Mark) was the flying class where there was a chance to play a game a lot like Quidditch.
At the end, if you complete all the classes, there was an adorable graduation photo op, including cap and gown.
If you like outdoor entertainment, we would highly recommend this activity. It’s a drop in event and costs £3 per wizard (on top of entrance to the park). Fancy dress is encouraged.
