A Picnic With The Butterflies At Strumpshaw Fen, Norfolk.

It was Freya who suggested a picnic at our old favourite, Strumpshaw Fen, on Sunday – as long as she could take her magnifying glass with her?!

While it was warm in the sun it was still pretty cold in the shade so I didn’t really expect to see much but almost everywhere we were looked there were butterflies. The half a dozen brimstones were particularly speedy and refused to land so I could take their photo. #rude

Luckily the comma and the peacock were more than happy to pose. I had to share my first butterfly photos of the year with you. They are looking a little worn around the edges so I imagine they have been hibernating over the winter.

Butterflies and blossom, doesn’t get much better for me.
