Sound the alert! I’ve seen my first butterfly of the year; a beautiful bright yellow brimstone at the park, which caused great excitement (mainly for me).
Since then I’ve seen three more which I think must be, at least in part, down to the unnaturally warm weather we’ve had recently (I went out on Sunday without a coat. In February?!). This time last year we were wading through snow.
It can’t be good thing, can it?
There also seems to be an abundance of flowers about so I thought I’d share some of the ones I’ve snapped recently, both in Norwich and further afield in Norfolk.
Even Freya got in on the act.
How are things where you live? Is everything blooming or are you still under six feet of snow?
Everything is blooming, which is wonderful to see. Though as you say, odd and maybe not a good thing? I’m still going to make the most of the sunshine whilst it lasts.

I think I might have jinxed it, it’s colder here today.

Beautiful! We are still under many feet of snow (Canada) and will continue to be under snow for a few more weeks/months but I love to see other areas that have grass and flowers beginning to show!

Thank you, I’m glad you liked them. I hope the snow isn’t proving too much of a problem – although I guess you are used to it in Canada. Everything stops here when we get even the tiniest bit of snow.

I used to laugh whenever I heard that because we get between 4 and 6 feet of snow every year… but then I was in an area that never gets snow when they got some and it was quite scary. People actually didn’t know how to drive in the snow, and their cars weren’t equipped to handle the slippery roads. There were lots of accidents and it was really eye opening to see how many little things that I don’t even think about contribute to our ability to handle the snow and how communities that don’t get snow wouldn’t have those things…no wonder cities shut down with a bit of snow!

What a beautiful boost of spring…I needed that color today! We have four feet of snow still! Today it was below zero temperature. Brrr…I’m ready for spring! 😊

You’re making me feel cold just thinking about it. The temperature here has settled down a little bit today – just in time for me to take a trip to the beach for work tomorrow! Hehe.

Everything is blooming, I hope that the flowers will survive if a cold snap appears
