Wouldn’t you know it, just as we got our first frost, our boiler broke. I’ve spent most of the week trying to find someone to replace it. Just when I thought I was getting somewhere, he called back to say it was going to cost an extra £1400 on top of what he already quoted. Argh.
Needless to say, my camera has been neglected this week…until this sunrise. I know some people are not keen on sunrise pics (I ALWAYS lose followers on Instagram when I post) but this one kept getting better. Freya and I sat and watched it for a good 20 minutes. The one directly above is taken with the iPhone and the one below with the big camera.
Please keep your fingers crossed that the cold weather predicted this week doesn’t materialise – although, while we don’t have heat, we do still have hot water at the moment so it could be worse.

Also, if you’re about tomorrow, please pop back to read my final Behind The Book post of 2018. I’m delighted to welcome one of my favourite writers, number one best-selling author Shari Low.
What beautiful photos! I can’t believe people unfollow when you post a sunrise. People are so weird.
So sorry to hear about the boiler. We’ve just been through the same thing (I blogged about it this week). It was the longest nine days of my life and we were lucky with both the mild weather and that we also have an alternative source of hot water (although it was only enough for one short shower). Good luck with getting it sorted!

Oh my word. you have taken the sunset pictures I wanted to. I got some reasonable ones earlier this week but none of them featured landscape, only the sky. Love this collection, they look amazing.

And all without leaving the flat, the joy of top floor living 🙂 Thank you, John.

Love sunrise photos just as much as sunset. Only problem I find with sunrise photos is that I need to be stupidly early and I’m not an early riser if I can get away with it. Lovely photos.

Luckily I have a five-year-old who loves nothing more than getting me up early so I’ve got it covered 🙂 Thank you for the comment.

Hi Tara, just thinking about the fact that you don’t have heat is making me feel cold. My husband is lighting our fire as I type this it’s so miserable here. I hope you get it sorted soon… I never realised people could feel so strongly against a photograph of a sunrise! How sad! They are beautiful and free. I love the colours in your first photo and the way the cloud is catching the light in the second. Both very lovely photos.

I know! I had no idea either. I love looking at sunrise/sunsets but I always lose at least one and often more when I post.

Oh dear, not a good time to be forking out £1400 for a new boiler just before Christmas. I love the second photo it looks like moulton gold rolling across the sky.

It’s £1400 on top of the £2300 he already quoted! Christmas is officially cancelled this year 🙂

That does sound pretty extortionate, definitely shop around I’m thinking maybe person who quoted thinks Christmas has just come early. Aww good luck with it all, hope it soon gets sorted.
