Foxley Wood provided something for everyone yesterday – my first (second and third) butterfly spot of the year, some sunshine for Mark and many muddy puddles (and the odd stick) for Freya.
I was so excited to see butterflies again. As well as the comma we also saw a peacock and lots of very vibrant brimstones, which looked like they were glowing they were so bright (not a single one would stop for a photo).
Luckily this beetle was happy to pose.
Best afternoon ever!
I hope you’ve all had a fun week. To see what other people have submitted to the fantastic My Sunday Photo link up please click on the camera below.
Also, please pop back tomorrow when the award winning author Jane Davis takes part in my Behind The Book series.
Yes, okay, your butterfly images definitely beat mine! It’s wonderful to see them out again isn’t it? Love the reflection as Freya plays in the puddle also.

No, that’s not true. Your photo is lovely, I love that the wings almost look like they are glowing 🙂

Hi Tara, it’s about time the weather started to improve for you. Not one, but two butterfly photos! You must have been quick. Muddy puddles were made for wading through and Freya looks like she is totally absorbed in doing just that.

I think I spoke too soon, Debbie. It’s been miserable all day here and it looks set to continue – just as we are going away for the week.

Oh my goodness, those are some seriously muddy puddles! I haven’t seen any butterflies yet, but I have seen a few bumble bees this year.

There were some huge bees in the woods too. Hope you see your first butterfly soon.
