While I’ve seen some butterflies about this week, there definitely haven’t been as many – so I thought I’d cheer myself up by remembering a few of the recent ones we have spotted.
I’m still sad I didn’t get to see a swallowtail this year but it gives me something to look forward to next year.
I hope you’ve all had a great week.

Hi Tara, the photo of what I think is a peacock butterfly is beautiful! You’ve done well to ‘capture’ so many lovely butterfly photos. Butterflies seem to sense me coming and tease me mercilessly, flitting from flower to flower!

You’ve snapped some fantastic ones this year! All I ever seem to see are cabbage whites.

Thank you. We get loads of white ones in the garden but the further in the wilds you go the better 🙂

Thank you! We saw some more at How Hill yesterday. What a fabulous place. Is Edward Thomas Boardman a relation?

How Hill is very special, he is my great great uncle. Norfolk is a very small place when it comes to relations!

I haven’t managed to capture the butterflies this year. These are gorgeous, that first peacock photo is stunning.

What a beautiful collection of butterflies! We have seen so many in Spain, including swallowtails, luckily enough. The second photo outs definitely my favourite so camouflaged!

The funny thing is when I uploaded the photo of the brimstone from my card I didn’t see it at first and thought I’d missed it 🙂
