I’m afraid my offerings this week are not very inspired – I blame flu-recovery, rain and the fact that it was my mum’s 70th birthday on Thursday and that required a lot of prep (not least baking the cake, which took THREE attempts.)
Anyway, because it was a bit of a dull start to the week, I was on the look out for vibrant colour as we were out and about. I thought about trying to capture every colour of the rainbow but ran out of time. Maybe a project for later? All pics taken on the iPhone.

They’re fab photos! I know I sometimes lack the time or inspiration to get the photos I would really like too.
Making your mum’s cake three times must have been very frustrating!

It really was, Sarah. I don’t know what went wrong but thankfully the final one was fine. Phew!

Gorgeous photos, I love the colours. I hope your mum had a lovely birthday – It would take me a lot more than three attempts to bake a cake !

Thank you Jenni. The odd thing was, I made the exact same cake for Freya’s birthday last year and it was fine first time.

Beautiful flowers – I think the first photo is my favourite. How frustrating that you needed three attempts to bake your mum’s birthday cake – hope the final one was just right and that your mum had a lovely birthday.

Some weeks can be like that Tara but I think you’ve got a beautiful photo here.
I just took baking ingredients!
I hope you’re fully recovered now from your flu and the birthday celebrations.
