I found a squashed version of one of these Chinese Lantern seed pods (I didn’t know that’s what they were then) in the park last year which looked like a pair of angel wings. I have been obsessed with them ever since and this year managed to find out where they were growing (and what they were called).
I’ve watched them change from little white flowers to paper-like lanterns and now this ornate lacy frame. I’m not sure which is my favourite but this is the most fun to photograph.

Chinese Lanterns remind me of waiting for the school bus. The stop was by an abandoned garden and the seed pods used to gleam from the undergrowth
