Thanks to the hours that Freya likes to keep I get to see the sunrise most days (as those of you who follow me on Twitter or Instagram will be well aware) including during the week we’ve just had on the Norfolk coast.
As my parents were also up pre-dawn on a couple of occasions (apparently they choose to get up at that time ?!) I took the opportunity to leave Freya playing happily with them and head to the nearby beach to have some fun with my camera.
The first day was dull and cloudy but while there wasn’t any sun, the 30 turbines of the Scroby Sands Wind Farm made a lovely backdrop for some moody black and white photos. I continued the theme throughout the holiday and on the final day the sun played ball and I saw a lovely dawn. It was such a positive way to start the day.
Here are a couple of others I took later in the morning and early afternoon.

Lovely photos. I particularly like the first one, windmills make great scenery 🙂

Thanks Sherry. I think it’s the only plus side of being up SOOOO early. I’ve been lucky enough to see some stunning ones which really set me up for the day.

Thanks Rachel, I thought I hadn’t got anything worth saving until I tried it in black and white. Interesting to play around with them.

I love that first one too. Wind turbines always seem alive, or about to come alive, to me.

Thank you, that’s very kind. It was surprisingly hard (for me) to capture the kite, I couldn’t seem to get it in focus. One lucky shot is all I need though 🙂
