My girl and I have had a lovely week just enjoying simple things such as playing indoors, a spot of painting and visits to the park, where she discovered dandelions for the first time.
I had seen the term “dandelion clocks” hash-tagged on Instagram but I had no idea what it was so I thought I’d better look it up. If, like me, you didn’t know, apparently you can tell the time by the number of breaths it takes to blow the “clock” off the dandelion.
If that was actually the case it would have been very, very late with Freya in charge as she hasn’t quite got the hang of blowing yet. She does however know what “shaky shaky” means and was shaking the dandelions about and taking great delight in the seeds floating around her, as you can see from the photo I chose for this week’s #MySundayPhoto.
I was desperately trying to get a photo of just a dandelion but as soon as I found one a little hand would appear in shot. Don’t worry, I made her leave some for other children to enjoy.
Love the way you’ve captured the single seed in the first photo. Very cute!

Thanks Sarah, although I’m afraid it was more luck than skill 🙂

Ah the first picture is beautiful. Dandelion clocks are such fun if you don’t suffer from hay fever. I bet she had a great time x

Her poor dad has terrible hay fever so we are hoping (as she already has so many allergies) she doesn’t get that too. I wouldn’t want to be the one to try and keep her away from the dandelions anyway 🙂

Gorgeous pictures. I’ve tried to introduce BattleKid to them this week but he’s still a bit young. Maybe next year 😊

Thank you. Yes, I think Freya might understand a bit better next year…then the park gardens will be in trouble 🙂
