Bit of an odd one this week. I took this from the living room window and I liked it because I think it looks like a black and white illustration but it’s actually a colour photo (which shows how dull the day was). We also spent ages trying to work out what the bird was. We think maybe a crow?

I’d be guessing a magpie if it were taken from my window. Lovely silhouette shot.

Thank you. I am plagued by magpies following me around so when I first saw it I thought so too but I don’t think the tail feathers are long enough and I couldn’t see that usual flash of white. Thanks for taking the time to comment 🙂

Looks like a crow to me, not big enough for a raven!

I was hoping it was a raven but the wise old Internet said their tail features are diamond shaped too.

Yes, it looks like a crow to me too. It’s amazing how the light can affect things isn’t it.

For sure. I was unsure about posting it because it’s not the best image but it was unusual for me and I liked it. Thanks for commenting.

It’s a great shot, Tara – the silhouette of the crow(?) is so sharply defined, it really makes the image.
