It’s all about the links…

On the look out for a cache…

A while ago I mentioned we’d been having some family fun geocaching as part of a feature I was writing for the Eastern Daily Press. It’s online now, if anyone is interested.

We’ve been hindered by busy weekends and bad weather recently but we are determined to go and have another go (we failed on our first two attempts but that was because we picked ones that were too complicated for beginners). My husband even dug his long-forgotten walking boots out! Freya loves being outside (thankfully) and even though we didn’t find anything we got to enjoy some time together and fresh air.

On a different note, I know (now) that some people feel a bit funny about Liebster Awards, thinking they are a bit spammy but I was very pleased to be nominated by Sandy. I’ve also really enjoyed reading the responses of the people I nominated.

wpid-liebsteraward-300x264I discovered Cath has been vegetarian since she was 14 (like me) and taught herself to draw and paint while suffering chronic ME (which must have been tough), that Running Heartless has moved 13 times in 27 years (!) and has a crush on celebrity chef Johnny Luzzini, that Clare had a cow (sadly no longer with us) named after her and once owned a knitted boob (!!), plus I discovered the reason behind the blog name 23 Week Socks who also revealed her favourite quote is:

“When the day shall come, that we do part if my last words are not ‘I love you’ ye’ll ken it was because I didna have time.” Diana Gabaldon, The Fiery Cross.

I know some of my other nominations are also planning to take part so I look forward to reading their responses too. It’s been lovely getting to know people a little better. I’ve also liked finding new blogs from their recommendations – so it really does work.

  1. I’m glad I did it. It really pushed me out of comfort zone, giving things away which up to now have been been kept secret and also in terms of writing. Seriously the toughest piece on my blog yet. Days of blood, sweat and tears, well more like dithering and editing anyway! 😉 Thanks for nominating – the timing was perfect. 😊

    1. It took me a while to do as well. I’m not used to answering questions, I quite like it now! Hehe. I’m so pleased you thought it was worthwhile anyway. I’m looking forward to reading more of your posts.
